2021
The meeting in December was all about Cider. our speaker was from Woodman's Cider and was very informative.
We found out about opening 3 bottles at a time and comparing the flavours and strength. Many members bought a bottle (or 3) after the meeting had closed!

Our November meeting has probably been the most popular for a while. We held a craft dabble run by our very talented LEWI members. there were 8 crafts on offer and I think its fair to say everyone had a really good time and learned quite a bit. With fun, friendship and learning new things - thats what WI meetings are all about. We've already pencilled in a craft meeting for 2022.

Our October meeting was the comedian Pat Hall. Some mixed reviews of the event but mainly laughter.
The meeting on the 7th September was the florist Polly Morgans. She told us all about sustainable flowers and the difference between those and other flowers that may have been flown in from Africa eg some roses.

Our Meeting for 1st June was 'A Career in Ruins'. (See Zoom slides below)
'A Career in Ruins'.
Elinor who works for the Churches Conservation Trust led a very informative and interesting Zoom talk about the work she is involved with. We were pleased to find that the title meant that she helped to save ruined buildings not that she had a ruined career!! The Trust is always looking for Volunteers and rely heavily on Donations. Information on all aspects of the Trust can be found on their website. Visitchurches.org.uk
May's meeting was our Annual Report. Zoe Higgins was elected as president again and new committee members were welcomed.
After the official business (see reports 2020-2021) members broke off into smaller Zoom rooms to chat about the year in the WI.
Tuesday 6th April's meeting had the guest speaker Miss Crystal Enigma. We were treated to an entertaining view of the life of a very flamboyant drag artiste. Here's Miss Crystal below in one of the outfits she made herself.
The meeting held in March concentrated on issues of Mental Health. something we're all very much aware of especially over this past year.
February's meeting was a bake along which produced many plates of delicious biscuits.
The Meeting on Tuesday 5th January at 7.45 was a talk by a Hampton Court Guide Sarah Slater. This was titled The Royal Court 1600 - 1830". A really interesting and at times quite irreverent look back at the Royal Court. I wonder how our present Royal Family will be viewed in 200 years time!!
